So here it is, nothing complicated, my blog/web spot, which I will try to update as frequently as possible due to how much time I have;)

Who am I then? To make a long story short, my name is Johan Moberg aka. Manantial, which is my kind of artist name, given to me by my good friend Harol Zapata back in the day.
Manantial is Spanish for spring (water spring) which I guess he thought suited me somehow. Why?, I’ll leave for him to answer;) Anyway I like it and I’m proud to have been given such a nice nickname since I always was inspired and felt a special connection with water.

What do I do then? Well I consider myself to be a guitarrist/musician/producer, mostly in the flamenco and latin field since that’s what I dedicated most of my musical career to.
I started to play Flamenco guitar at the age of 15 in Sweden and when I finished high school I moved to Spain to enrich and develop my passion.

For five years I was lucky to be able to study for some of today’s leading artists like: Pedro Sierra, Chicuelo, Juan Ramon Caro, Niño de Pura, Miguel Angel Cortes, Manolo Soler, just to name a few. If you haven’t heard of them take your time and look them up as they are amazing artists and performers who all played a big role in today’s flamenco.

Until now I recorded two solo albums under the alias Manantial, Mi Propia Pelicula (2005) and Basado En Hechos Reales (2012) which you can read more about in the Samples section but I also work as many other musicians with lots of different projects and artists. Some of them are listed in the Current Projets section.

In this blog I will put updates on concerts, projects, some of the daily activities from Mar Studios, which is my current work place in Stockholm, among other things. Hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, comments, ideas, proposals never hesitate to contact me.

Wish you a good day!
